आज नवरात्रा की अष्टमी थी और ऐसा रिवाज है कि आज के दिन नवजात का पहला भोज होता है। विधी तो मात्र 15 दिन की है आज इसलिये वह ज्यादा खाने की स्थिती में नही थी पर फिर भी उसे खीर के दूध की आधी चम्मच चखाई गई। पूजा के बीच में तो छोटी सो ही गई इसलिये बिचारी को उठाकर खिलाना पढ़ा।
